Mr. Blanquie serves as a consultant to law enforcement, insurance companies and self‑insured entities. He has served as a lecturer at the California Highway Patrol Academy, Contra Costa District Attorney's Office, the California Department of Insurance, the California District Attorney's Association, as advisor to the San Francisco Arson Task Force, the California District Attorney's Task Force, is Past President of the California Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters, and was a member of Insurance Commissioner Garamendi's Select Advisory Task Force which drafted the 1993 California Unfair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations.
Mr. Blanquie has also published articles for Claims Magazine, The John Cooke Fraud Report, The Status Report, and other trade publications.
Mr. Blanquie has over 30 years experience in the insurance and self‑insurance industry. Prior to founding Insurance Consulting Associates, Inc. in 1978, Mr. Blanquie worked at the California State Automobile Association in the Inter‑Insurance Bureau in Marin, San Francisco and Oakland. Some of his accomplishments were:
Planning, development and implementation of a company‑wide claims fraud detection and prevention program which used both computer and non‑computer resources; one of the first SIU's in the United States
- Participation in an executive‑level committee to research, analyze and recommend solutions to claims processing and management problems
- Participation in authority committees which identified and resolved complex issues related to clients and personnel
- Served as Supervisor, Home Office Special Claims Investigations from 1977 to 1978
- Served as Division Supervisor for the Oakland/Alameda area from 1976 to 1977

Mr. Blanquie has worked toward the CPCU designation through the Insurance Education Association and Golden Gate University. He has earned Certificates of Completion from CSAA for primary class, physical damage, training shop, bodily injury and supervision; Certificates of Completion from California State University at Los Angeles for insurance fraud; Certificates of Completion for Arson Investigation and Defense; and Certificates of Training Completion for the California Fair Claims Settlements Practices Regulations. He has attended and completed various insurance industry, self‑insurance and CEB courses. Mr. Blanquie was a Bachelor of Science candidate, Business Administration, College of Marin.
Mr. Blanquie is the three-time recipient of the prestigious INC. Magazine 500 Award for 1987, 1988 and 2001. He is also the recipient of the 1988 and 2001 Sonoma County Supervisor’s Resolutions, City of Petaluma Proclamations for 1989 and 2002, the 1989 and 2002 California Legislative Members Assembly Resolutions for his contributions to the insurance and self‑insurance industries, the community and the State.
Mr. Blanquie is the 1992 recipient of the first annual California Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters' "Adjuster of the Year" award, renamed the "Ron Blanquie Achievement Award", and the 1994 Certificate of Recognition for distinguished service by California Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi. Mr. Blanquie is also listed by the 1995-1996 and 2000-2001 National Directory of Who's Who in Insurance. 2009 A.M. Best Recommended Experts.
